Overview

Changes in trade patterns, volumes, and regulations affect women, men, and youth differently, and gender inequalities in labour markets and access to resources shape a country's competitiveness. GAPI is keen to promote gender and youth initiatives that advance equality of opportunity — particularly for women and youth, who are key to revolutionising entrepreneurship in Africa and are well placed to boost trade through the AfCFTA.

Outcomes

Better-informed women and youth, more formalised businesses, and trade policy that is evaluated against real gender-equality goals — with a target of at least 10 trainings/seminars for women and youth a year.
